New Year’s Viewing Areas and Travel Restrictions Announced for London Event
London is preparing for its annual New Year’s celebration, unveiling details regarding ticketed viewing areas and travel guidelines for attendees. The event will feature six designated viewing areas, along with specific entry requirements and vehicle restrictions. These measures aim to facilitate a smooth experience as the city welcomes in the New Year.
Designated Viewing Areas
This year, there are six ticketed viewing zones available: Blue, Red, Pink, Green, and White, in addition to an Orange area designed for accessible viewing. Each area requires attendees to enter through a specific numbered gate that corresponds with their ticket.
Those planning to attend with friends should ensure they purchase tickets for the same viewing area, as movement between zones will not be permitted during the event.
Ticket Pricing
Prices for tickets will vary depending on the chosen viewing area, allowing attendees to select an option that fits their preferences and budget.
Travel Considerations
Attendees are reminded of important travel restrictions in place for the event. Key footbridges including Westminster Bridge, the Golden Jubilee Footbridge, Lambeth Bridge, Blackfriars Bridge, and Waterloo Bridge will be closed both before and after the festivities. It is advisable for ticket holders to plan their journey to their selected viewing area accordingly.
Vehicle Limitations
All vehicles—buses, coaches, cars, vans, trucks, and bicycles—will be prohibited from entering restricted event zones and must be parked outside the designated areas. As a precautionary safety measure, all vehicle parking will be suspended in the event vicinity.
In partnership with the Metropolitan Police Service, vehicle access will be restricted from 2:00 PM on December 31 until around 6:00 AM on January 1. However, access may be limited from 12:00 PM in specific yellow and red zones. A map detailing these restrictions will be made available to the public.
Future Events
Further, some roads in central London will remain closed for the London Parade 2026, underscoring ongoing urban management efforts in the capital. Attendees and residents can learn more about this upcoming event through the London Parade’s official website.
