“It is dangerous, but what can you do? Freeze to death?” she expressed, highlighting the grim choices many must make as the temperature drops to as low as -20 degrees Celsius (-4 degrees Fahrenheit).

“Every day you have to fight, you have to survive. You are not really living,” Yeva remarked, summarising the overwhelming sense of despair that encapsulates daily life for countless individuals in Kyiv.
