This year has proven to be a transformative phase for the IAA. Staff members adapted to the organisation’s new identity while the policy team handled over 320 regulatory inquiries amid a backdrop of considerable reform. With 606 referrals recorded, the IAA’s dedication to safeguarding individuals seeking advice is evident. Additionally, the organisation launched a new website, streamlined registration processes with online forms, and created promotional content in 27 languages, enhancing access to reliable advice.

These initiatives occurred concurrently with the progression of the Border Security, Asylum and Immigration Act 2025 through Parliament, highlighting the essential nature of the IAA’s work. The proposed legislative changes are set to empower the IAA to enhance its efforts in the upcoming financial year.
