The Met Office has advised that drivers and pedestrians should exercise caution, as icy patches are anticipated on roads, pavements, and cycle paths. It warned that injuries may occur due to slips on these surfaces.

This latest warning follows an earlier announcement by the Met Office regarding a yellow weather alert for rain. This forecast, which includes the South West, is expected to last from midday on Monday until 9am on Tuesday, due to the impact of previous heavy rainfall and stormy conditions.
Earlier this week, a significant incident was declared in Somerset, where around 50 properties were affected by flooding attributed to Storm Chandra, compelling local authorities to take action.

As of noon on Sunday, the Met Office reported 58 flood warnings across England, alongside 116 alerts indicating potential flooding. This comes as rain is expected to sweep across most parts of the UK throughout the weekend.
On Monday, light rain and showers are forecasted, with more substantial rainfall arriving later in the day. The South West region could see rainfall accumulations ranging from 10-20mm, with localised totals of 30-50mm possibly falling over regions such as Dartmoor in Devon.

The weather for the remainder of the week is predicted to remain unsettled, with ongoing showers or longer downpours affecting many areas, accompanied by brisk winds. Lower-than-average temperatures in northern regions are also anticipated, potentially resulting in snowfall on hilly areas.
