English Channel Sees Lowest Migrant Crossings in Five Years

Official figures show that just 933 migrants arrived in the UK in January, the lowest figure for this month since 2021, when only 224 individuals made the crossing. This year’s statistics reflect a 15% decline compared to the same month last year, which recorded 1,098 arrivals, and a 30% reduction from January 2024, when 1,335 people entered the UK.
