Funding Boost for Nine Welsh Neighbourhoods to Revitalise Communities
Nine neighbourhoods across Wales have been selected to receive up to £20 million each as part of the UK Government’s Pride in Place Programme, aimed at rejuvenating local areas and creating new opportunities. This funding is part of a wider initiative worth £180 million, announced last September, to support long-term regeneration projects across Wales.
Empowering Local Communities
This significant investment enables residents to address pressing issues in their communities, such as cleaning up graffiti, preserving local institutions, and reducing anti-social behaviour. In addition, all local authorities in Wales will get a share of £34.5 million for general improvements to public spaces, including repairing bus shelters and enhancing leisure facilities.

Neighbourhood Boards, comprised of local representatives, will be established to determine how the funding will be allocated. The rollout of these investments is anticipated to commence from April 2026, with a focus on revitalising town centres, preserving heritage, creating job opportunities, and enhancing safety and public services.
