When these figures are projected onto the entire older population, it emphasizes the magnitude of the issue, with 1.5 million people at risk of facing the day in isolation.

During Christmas week last year, volunteers from Age UK made over 70,000 minutes of phone calls to those in need, demonstrating the charity’s commitment to addressing loneliness.
