The Met Office has issued warnings for significant rainfall expected to affect parts of the UK this week. A yellow weather alert will come into force at 6pm on Monday, lasting for 24 hours and impacting areas in southwest England and Wales, as well as Herefordshire and Hampshire.

Forecasts indicate that some regions could experience up to 40mm of rain within a single day, while Dartmoor and elevated areas in South Wales might see between 60 and 80mm. These amounts could surpass more than half of the typical monthly rainfall encountered in December.
