This year, their initiatives have significantly aided over 230 families, ensuring that many children and individuals experience a brighter Christmas.
Collaborative Efforts in West Cumbria
Teaming up with Cumberland Council, Family Hubs, and BEC, the West Cumbria Christmas Toy Appeal has successfully distributed toys and gift vouchers to children aged 19 and under. Sellafield Ltd contributed a grant of £24,915 through its Social Impact, Multiplied (SiX) programme to bolster this initiative, while supply chain partners also made generous donations in the form of funds and selection boxes.
Record Fundraising Initiatives
At the Vertex Centre in Whitehaven, employees set a new fundraising benchmark by raising £10,125 for the Time to Share Bereavement charity, surpassing last year’s tally by £2,875. The employees engaged in various fundraising activities, including raffles and a half marathon challenge, showcasing their dedication to community support.
Continued Support for Local Charities
In addition, Sellafield Ltd workers have maintained their long-standing support for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS). This year’s fundraising efforts, featuring a festive visit from Santa and his elves, brought in over £10,000, contributing to a decade-long total exceeding £30,000.
Growing Needs in Warrington
