UK-India Free Trade Agreement Set to Revolutionise Cosmetics Industry
The recently signed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between the UK and India is poised to significantly lower tariffs on cosmetics and personal care products, reducing them from 30% to 10% upon implementation. British brands are gearing up to seize this opportunity, showcasing their innovative offerings at Cosmoprof India 2025, which is positioned as a major B2B platform in the thriving Indian beauty market.
Impact on the UK Beauty Sector
The UK’s beauty industry is a key player in the global market, contributing an impressive £31.5 billion to the nation’s GDP by 2025. In the previous year, British exports of beauty and personal care items amounted to £4.3 billion. The anticipated tariff reductions under the FTA are expected to further enhance market access, benefiting consumers in both countries by expanding their choices in high-quality beauty products.
