Residents in Kent are facing significant water supply disruptions once again, just days after a previous incident affected thousands. The problems are impacting around 4,500 properties near Maidstone and additional areas in Tunbridge Wells, according to South East Water (SEW).
Extent of the Disruption
SEW reported that an electrical fault at a treatment facility is primarily to blame for the ongoing issues, compounded by a slow replenishment of water in storage tanks. The areas hardest hit in Maidstone include Harrietsham, Kingswood, Coxheath, and Headcorn. Residents in these locales can expect a return to normal service by the end of Sunday.
In contrast, residents in the Bidborough region of Tunbridge Wells are predicted to face continued disruptions lasting into Monday.
