British High Commission Calls for Proposals for Drinking Water Supply
The British High Commission (BHC) in Yaoundé has announced its search for qualified suppliers to provide and deliver 20-litre bottled water dispensers to eight designated locations. This initiative aims to establish a dependable and cost-effective source of drinking water for routine and emergency needs.
Scope of Work
The selected supplier will handle a range of responsibilities, including:
- Delivering a variable weekly supply of 20-litre bottled water to BHC’s offices across various locations.
- The number of delivery sites may change with prior notice.
- Delivery quantities will fluctuate, with a cap of five bottles per location per week, matching the number of emptied bottles collected.
- Emergency deliveries must be completed within 24 hours upon request.
- Suppliers are expected to propose capacity plans to address seasonal demand surges.
- Issuing monthly invoices and service reports detailing site-specific quantities, issues, and client feedback, with incidents to be reported within 24 hours.
Technical Specifications
Vendors must adhere to specific technical standards, which include:
- Providing bottles made from food-grade materials that are clean and equipped with tamper-evident seals.
- Ensuring hygienic product handling from sourcing to delivery.
- Meeting WHO guidelines for safe drinking water and complying with Cameroonian public health regulations.
- Offering transparency regarding the water’s source and supplying microbiological and chemical test reports monthly.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify, bidders need to present evidence of:
- Legal registration in Cameroon, including tax clearance and relevant permits.
- A minimum of three years’ experience in supplying bottled water to embassies, international organisations, hospitals, or large corporations, with three references provided.
- Audited financial statements from the last two years or a bank confirmation letter.
- The capacity to accommodate 30-day payment terms and maintain buffer stocks.
- Documented compliance with WHO standards and relevant health regulations.
- Health and safety policies along with staff hygiene training records.
Submission Guidelines
Bidders must submit their proposals by 13 February 2026, as late applications will not be considered. Proposals should be emailed to bhcyaoundeprocurement@fcdo.gov.uk with the subject line “CMY0126 bottled water” in PDF format (unlocked) and not exceeding 20 MB.

Evaluation Process

Commercial evaluation will focus on pricing for both standard and emergency deliveries.
Contract Terms
The winning bidder will enter a 12-month agreement with the BHC, subject to possible extension by mutual consent. Key performance indicators will include consistent supply of safe water, prompt deliveries, and zero tolerance for non-compliance with safety standards.
