A shopkeeper is being recognised as a hero after he bravely intervened during a shooting at Bondi Beach, disarming one of the assailants. The incident left at least 11 people dead and many others injured during a public gathering to celebrate Hanukkah.

Despite his brave actions, Mr. al Ahmed suffered serious injuries himself, having been shot twice during the chaotic scene. His cousin, Mustafa, revealed that he is awaiting surgery for his wounds, while also expressing hope for his recovery.
