Among those affected, two individuals sustained injuries, one of whom is reported to be in serious condition, while a third managed to escape unharmed.

Emergency mountain rescue teams were swiftly dispatched to the locations of the avalanches. Their efforts were supported by four rescue helicopters, various mountain rescue and Red Cross dog teams, and a crisis intervention unit. Gerhard Kremser, the district head of the Pongau mountain rescue service, emphasised the gravity of the situation, stating that these tragic events underscore the significant avalanche risks that have been repeatedly communicated to the public.
Further Casualties
Prior to the two major incidents, another avalanche in the Bad Hofgastein region resulted in the death of a female skier. This event occurred at an altitude of about 2,200 metres (7,200 feet), further spotlighting the dangers posed by the current winter conditions.
