Reflecting on the upcoming venture, Oliver noted that the relaunch comes with both challenges and prospects. He remarked, “In theory it’s not the easiest time to return but conversely, I think it’s the perfect time,” suggesting a belief in a market ripe for revitalisation.
“The mid-market needs excitement, surprise and delight, and that’s exactly what I am planning on delivering,” he asserted. His hands-on approach will extend to menu creation, sourcing ingredients, staff training, and the overall ambiance of the restaurant.

Jamie’s Italian first opened its doors in 2008 in Oxford, a project that started with Oliver and his Italian mentor, chef Gennaro Contaldo. Over time, the chain expanded to approximately 40 locations across the UK.
