Despite their achievements, Weston lamented that the sport often only receives attention during the Olympics, making its excitement and danger less known to the public. He added, “It is quite a shame that people only tune into our sport every four years. We go headfirst at 90mph down these amazing tracks all around the world.”
Weston acknowledged the risks involved in skeleton, having overcome numerous injuries throughout his career. He stated, “You have to be a certain type of person to get over that fear when you first start… Once you get over the fear and apprehension about that, it’s so much fun.”

Another area of focus is the men’s curling team, led by skip Bruce Mouat, who remains a strong contender for gold after finishing with silver in the last Olympics. This time, the team has established itself as the world number one, and Mouat is determined to maintain that momentum, emphasizing the heightened expectations tied to their recent successes.
The Figure Skating Hopefuls
In figure skating, the duo of Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson will aim to secure Britain’s first ice dance medal since the iconic partnership of Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean 42 years ago. Other promising athletes include Zoe Atkin and Kirsty Muir in freestyle skiing, as well as snowboarder Mia Brookes, who showcased her prowess with multiple podium finishes last year.
