New Tactical Communication Systems to Enhance UK Armed Forces
The UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) has awarded a contract worth up to £86 million to BlackTree Technologies for the development of advanced tactical communication systems. This significant contract will introduce the Dismounted Data System (DDS), which incorporates state-of-the-art technology such as radios, headsets, display tablets, and more. This equipment is designed to provide soldiers with timely reconnaissance and intelligence data, reducing response times and minimising the risk of friendly fire incidents.
Job Creation and Economic Impact
- The contract will generate 12 new jobs within the UK defence sector.
- Positions will be located in Tewkesbury, Hereford, and Birmingham.
