Mother Charged with Murder Following Death of Infant on Isle of Wight
A woman has been charged with the murder of a one-year-old girl following a tragic incident on the Isle of Wight last August. Samara Jay Glover, 27, was arrested in relation to the death of Jayla-Jean Mclaren, who succumbed to her injuries two days after being admitted to hospital.

Jayla-Jean was taken to the hospital on 1 August with serious injuries and sadly passed away on 3 August. The Hampshire Police have confirmed that Glover is in custody and faces charges not only of murder but also of causing or allowing the death of a child.

In the course of the investigation, a 31-year-old man from Newport was also arrested. His charges included murder, causing or allowing the death of a child, and various forms of abuse and neglect. He has since been released on conditional bail, with a court date set for 27 April.
